Mahasivaratri Brahmothsavams

The Brahmothsavams for the lord are being celebrated here with Triahnika Deeksha during Mahasivarathri which normally falls in the month of Magham (in the month of February/March). The Mahasivarathri day (29th day of Magham) is the most important day of the festival. The important events of the celebrations are Prabhotsavam, Gramotsavam, Swami vari Kalyanam. This is a grand festival of pomp and grandeur celebrated amidst much fanfare. Gramotsava is an important ritual, celebrated during Mahasiva Ratri, followed by Kalyanothsavam to the lord and lordess. The most significant event during Mahasiva Ratri is Dhwajarohana in the evening. During Dhwajarohana, rice balls called Nandi muddalu are tossed in to air at dwaja stambham. There is a common belief in vogue that those who are childless have to grab those rice balls, so that they are blessed by lord for a good progeny. Also another important custom on that day is lightening of AKHANDA (Ganda) deepams by devotees. Devotees ardently believe that lightening of AKHANDA (Ganda) deepam during shivaratri at this shrine will ward off their bad luck and likely ghandas (likely mishaps/bad omens).

Masa Sivaraatri utsavam

During every Masa sivaratri, special poojas are offered to deity and Anna daanam is carried out for the devotees.

Sravanamasotsavams

These Utsavams are performed in Sravanam (August – September). In this month several special poojas are offered to God and Goddess. The special feature of this utsavam is of that special poojas are offered to mother parvathi Devi as per temple customs.

Dasara Celebrations

Devi Sarannavaratrulu is a festival of nine days beginning from the first day of Asweejam month which generally falls in September or October. The important events of this utsavam are performing of different yagams, Navadurga alankaras to Goddess and Vahana Sevas to God and Goddess besides conducting several special arjitha poojas. The Navadurga Alankaras offered to Goddess parvathi devi in these utsavams are Saila Putri (Parvathi), Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmandadurga, Skandamatha, Katyayini, Kalaratri, Mahagouri and Siddhidayini.

Kartheeka Masotsavams

Karthikam is said to be the most auspicious month for lord Siva. On the important days of this month like Mondays, full moon day etc., Deepothsavam in which a large number of lamps are lighted in the temple premises. On the full moon day of the month devotees turn up in multitude to light karthika deepam.

Arudra is the birth Star of God Siva. Every year, during karthikamasam and on the day of Arudra Nakshatram Kumbhabhishekam is performed to Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy, which is another significant festival of this temple. On this festival annadaanam is done on a large scale.
